Medeama SC defender Nurudeen Abdulai and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku have received late call-ups to the Black Stars ahead of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Madagascar and Comoros.

The duo have replaced Abdul Mumin and Kamaldeen Sulemana in the squad according to the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

Sulemana who has missed previous call-ups due to injury has been in fine form with Southampton in the Championship upon his return but has pulled out of the squad with reported fitness issues.

Meanwhile Abdul Mumin after bouncing back to splendid form for Rayo Vallecano caught the attention of the technical team prompting an invitation but has unfortunately pulled out as well.

In their absence, Nurudeen Abdulai is expected to boost the defense of the team given his remarkable show for Medeama from last season through to the current season. The youngster scored three goals after 30 appearances for the Yellow and Mauves and has featured 10 times already in the ongoing season establishing himself as a key player for the Ghanaian champions.

Issahaku, on the other hand, has been in impressive form following his loan switch from Sporting CP to Leicester City.

Ghana will host Madagascar at the Baba Yara Stadium on November 17 before facing Comoros in Moroni for their next game.
