Nsoatreman FC coach Maxwell Konadu was allegedly attacked by fans of Boafoakwa Tano following the goalless draw at the Sunyani Coronation Park on Sunday.

Fans invaded the pitch at the end of the game, reportedly assaulting the former Black Stars player and assistant coach. Konadu has been admitted to the hospital and is currently receiving treatment. A viral video of him on a hospital bed has prompted criticism and calls for severe punishment for the attackers.

This incident adds to a series of hooliganism in the Ghana Premier League this season. Earlier, Kotoko fans damaged seats at the Dr Kwame Kyei Stadium in Abrankese after a 2-2 draw against Nations FC. Great Olympics players were allegedly stoned by irate Aduana FC fans, and Bofoakwa Tano players had to be rescued by the police after their game against Karela United, as angry fans attempted to attack them.

The repeated instances of violence raise concerns about the safety and security of players and officials in Ghanaian football, urging the Ghana Football Association to take decisive action against those responsible for such acts.
