If you’re reading this, it’s too late: Drake dropped another Kendrick Lamar diss.
On Friday night (May 3), Drake released “Family Matters,” named after the throwback sitcom. This marks Drizzy’s third attack on Lamar, following “Push Ups” and “Taylor Made Freestyle.” On it the Toronto rapper targets Lamar, along with Metro Boomin, Dave Free, Rick Ross, Pharrell Williams, ASAP Rocky, The Weeknd, Lamar’s longtime partner Whitney Alford, and others.
After Drake released the three-part song with an accompanying music video, nearly simultaneously Lamar dropped “Meet the Grahams.” Some are taking the timing, content, and title of Lamar’s track as confirmation that the OVO team has opps on the inside. On “Meet the Grahams,” Lamar alleges that Drake has a secret daughter. The move mirrors when Pusha T revealed that Drake had a son, Adonis, on the 2018 track “The Story of Adidon” during his beef with the Toronto megastar. With the rappers now 4-3 in diss tracks, it looks like the ball is back in Drake’s court.
